State research directory

State guides for commercial property research

Start with the state where the property sits, then follow the guide’s specific source and authority path. A state guide explains a useful local research workflow; it does not imply that every property or jurisdiction has been ingested. Use the worksheet to preserve identifiers, document scope and the next authority question.

Explore practical guides by asset type or state, with source references, worked examples and editable kits.

Match the guide to the work on your desk.

01

Define the property question

Locate the property’s jurisdiction before choosing a source. A state map, local assessor, planning authority and operating-license register may use different identifiers.

Source 1
02

Open the working example

Inspect the fictional example before entering your own property. It shows how the guide’s specific evidence gaps turn into requests and reviewer tasks. The example is a teaching file, not an observed property or market result.

03

Keep the related question close

Cross into an asset guide when local records need operating context. A statewide source path is useful alongside the specific property workflow.

Using the collection

What can you do with these guides?

Is this a dataset of available properties?

No. It is a collection of research and acquisition-workflow guides with editable worksheets. Source inventories, verified property samples and future studies are identified separately.

Do I need a research report to use a kit?

No. Start with the worked example or the evidence already in your deal file. The output is a review sheet with missing information and specific next actions.

How will the collection improve over time?

New research can add dated findings, source-backed samples and deeper examples to the existing guide. The useful method, source trail and kit remain accessible between report editions.
