Using AI in CRE & Capabilities

What is agentic AI for real estate?

Agentic AI for real estate means systems that take multi-step actions toward a goal, not just answer a prompt. An agentic system reads an offering memo, extracts the property and financial fields, scores it against your criteria, and drafts the memo, with checks between steps. It is the difference between a chatbot that talks and one that does the work.

Grounded in a real workflow, it looks like this. A broker forwards an offering memo to a capture address. The system parses the attachment, fills the deal record, flags anything missing against a completeness checklist, runs disqualifiers, scores the survivors, and produces a branded memo, then hands a scored, structured deal to a human who owns the decision. That is the flow behind our AI Deal Sourcing and the delivered engine in the off-market deal sourcing case study, where a Midwest manufactured-housing investor's system refreshes 197 counties weekly, scores each property on 14 signals, and resolves owners before generating a BOV or OM on demand. Multiple steps, one goal, no analyst re-keying between them.

Two distinctions matter. A plain chatbot answers and stops; it takes no action and holds no state between turns. A rules-only automation (a fixed Zapier or n8n flow) takes action but cannot reason over messy inputs like a scanned OM or a non-standard rent roll. Agentic AI combines them: orchestration for the plumbing, models for the reasoning, and a defined goal the system works toward. The taxonomy is spelled out in Is it real AI or just automation?

The honest caveat: not everything labeled "agentic" is. A lot of vendor "AI agents" are a fixed automation with a chat box bolted on. NextAutomation builds real agentic systems, orchestration plus models, with human checkpoints at every sensitive step, which is why the deal team reads an analyst-approved memo rather than raw AI output.
